PDP Crisis: BoT, Governors Urged to Exclude Atiku And Wike From NEC Meeting....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Concerned groups within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have called on the Party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), PDP Governors Forum, and the National Working Committee (NWC) to prevent the attendance of Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike at the upcoming NEC meeting…….READ ALSO

The groups emphasized the importance of barring these individuals to restore sanity and political stability within the party. They urged the BoT and PDP Governors Forum to take immediate action to address the ongoing political crisis that threatens the unity and stability of the party.

The PDP Northern Professionals Movement and PDP Elders Support Group issued a joint statement after meeting with stakeholders from 22 Northern States in Kaduna. They also opposed calls for the removal of Usman Iliya Damagum as acting chairman of the party, citing the unresolved case of the suspended chairman, Iyorcha Ayu, in court.

According to the groups, Damagum, serving as Deputy Chairman, North, assumed his role in an acting capacity, and until Ayu’s matter is resolved or Ayu resigns, Damagum should remain in that capacity.

Leaders of the two groups, Mr. Isaac Samuel and Dr. Muazzam Lawal Sadauki, expressed disappointment over the attacks on Damagum’s personality and the NWC by some social media users, describing it as “unfortunate.”

Despite challenges, the groups expressed confidence in the party’s leadership, noting that despite the post-2023 general election abandonment by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike, the party remains resilient.

The statement highlighted the need for party leaders to address internal issues and restore peace and unity within the PDP. It attributed the current tensions to individuals seeking unconstitutional control of the party, including those who have repeatedly abandoned it after general elections.
