In a split judgment, with a two-to-one decision, the tribunal led by Ezekiel Ajayi ruled that Ombugadu provided evidence supporting his claim that Sule benefited from the manipulation of poll results.
However, the Court of Appeal upheld Sule’s reinstatement, stating that the tribunal had erroneously relied on the testimony of eight PDP witnesses, whose sworn declarations were not included in the petition.
Unsatisfied with the appellate court ruling, Ombugadu appealed the judgment at the Supreme Court.
The state’s PDP Youth wing is now calling for justice and equity in the Supreme Court appeal. In a statement released on Monday, youth leader Sani Mohammed praised the Supreme Court’s handling of appeals related to the 2023 governorship elections and urged the court to uphold justice in the Nasarawa case.
Mohammed also commended President Bola Tinubu for refraining from interfering in judicial matters. He emphasized the importance of abiding by the law, avoiding distractions, and maintaining peace in Nasarawa state, expressing confidence that Ombugadu will emerge as the rightful governor.
