Wike Alleges Former Army Chief Plotted To Kill Him, Rig 2019 Election.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has accused former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (retd.), of orchestrating military interference to manipulate the 2019 governorship election against him.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday at his Gwarinpa residence, Wike made the allegation while addressing his recent confrontation with a naval officer over a disputed property in Abuja’s Gaduwa District, linked to former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo (retd.).
Buratai had earlier commented on the incident via his verified Facebook account, describing Wike’s actions as a threat to national security. He characterized the minister’s conduct as “a reckless act that transcends mere misconduct” and argued that it undermined the authority of the Commander-in-Chief as well as the integrity of the Armed Forces. He further warned that such public confrontations with uniformed officers could have serious implications for discipline within the military.
In response, Wike accused Buratai of attempting to manipulate the electoral process during his 2019 re-election campaign. He said, “He cannot teach me. This was the same man who directed his GOC to rig my election in 2019. He couldn’t rig me. He lost. He told his GOC to kill me. He could not kill me.”
According to Nivo News, Wike’s remarks underscore ongoing tensions between political leaders and military figures in Nigeria, highlighting deep-seated grievances over past electoral conduct and military involvement in politics.

“‘He Will Outlive You Like Trump!’ – Obidient Movement Warns Threats Against Peter Obi”.
The Obidient Movement North Central has issued a stern warning to anyone attacking or threatening the life of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The movement cautioned that, similar to former U.S. President Donald Trump, Obi will outlive those plotting against him.
This message was conveyed in a statement titled “Warning to Those Attacking or Threatening Peter Obi,” shared with DAILY POST on Wednesday by the National Coordinator of the Movement, Yunusa Tanko.
The statement urged Obi’s detractors to reconsider their actions and warned of the grave consequences their threats could have for Nigeria.
It reads in part: “We have taken time to investigate the events in Edo State, including what led to them, those responsible, their threats, and potential next moves. That is why we did not issue an immediate statement.
“Now, with a clear understanding of what happened, we, the Obidient Movement of the North Central Zone, issue this warning to those attempting to turn Nigeria into another Somalia by provoking millions of peace-loving Obidient Movement members worldwide through threats or attacks against our principal, H.E. Mr. Peter Gregory Obi.
“Let it be known that just as Trump survived every attack during his campaigns, won the presidency in a historic landslide, and continues to counter evil, so too will Peter Gregory Obi outlive all those who wish him harm. He will go on to win the 2027 presidential election decisively and fulfill his God-given mission of rescuing Nigeria from the chaos it has been subjected to. This purpose is ordained and must be achieved.”

“2027 Elections: IGP Disu Issues Strict Warning To Police Against Partisanship!”.
As the 2027 general elections draw near, the newly appointed Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tunji Disu, has emphasized to officers that their duty to the nation is now more critical and non-negotiable.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Disu highlighted that the credibility of the electoral process, the strength of Nigeria’s democracy, and public confidence will largely depend on the conduct of the Nigeria Police Force, which serves as the lead agency for election security.
He made the remarks at the inaugural conference for strategic police leaders, held at the Peacekeeping Conference Centre in Abuja on Wednesday.
The IGP stressed that police officers must uphold the law, act impartially, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain strict neutrality in all election-related operations.
“We will ensure that the electoral process is safe and secure before, during, and after the elections. Our responsibility includes protecting democratic institutions, election officials, voters, and critical infrastructure. Every Nigerian must be able to exercise their civic rights freely, peacefully, and without fear or intimidation,” Disu said.
He added, “Crowd management and public order duties will be carried out with restraint, proportionality, and full respect for human rights and the law. When the use of force is unavoidable, it must always be lawful, measured, and accountable.
“We will coordinate closely with the Armed Forces, other security agencies, and the intelligence community to deliver a seamless and unified election security framework. However, the Nigeria Police Force will retain clear leadership and command responsibility throughout the process.
“Let me be very clear: there will be zero tolerance for partisanship, misconduct, or abuse of authority. Any officer found compromising neutrality, violating electoral laws, or acting outside approved rules will face swift and decisive consequences, including prosecution where necessary. There will be no exceptions and no excuses.”
