Fireboy explained that the complexities of relationships in the city have influenced both his music and his personal approach to romance. He characterized his experiences as filled with highs and lows, noting that he often finds stability in romantic connections, especially under pressure.
He stated, “In my song ‘Ashawo’ I was trying to paint a picture of what the dating scene is like in Lagos where I live. It’s a mess. My relationship is chaotic. But I thrive with girls. When I’m under pressure, I usually find balance in girls.”
The singer has also shared that heartbreak serves as a source of creative inspiration. However, he recently revealed that his heart has never truly been broken. While he once considered experiencing heartbreak to understand it fully, he opted against it after conducting some personal research. Speaking on the 90s Baby Show, the 29-year-old said that encountering heartbreak at this stage could negatively affect both his personal life and career.
