He acknowledged existing challenges in staff accommodation, affirming that housing remains a critical human need and pledging continued efforts to address the gap.

As part of the Navy’s expanded security strategy, Ogalla highlighted the establishment of a Special Operations Command in Makurdi and the formation of the Nigerian Navy Marines—initiatives aimed at strengthening the Navy’s capacity to respond swiftly to maritime threats and support ground operations.

“These initiatives are designed to develop a highly mobile force capable of expeditionary warfare in response to emerging national security threats,” he said.

Ogalla also affirmed the Navy’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its role as a regional maritime power within the Gulf of Guinea, ensuring safe and secure maritime trade routes.

He expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his continued support of naval initiatives, stating that presidential responses to the Navy’s strategic requests have been prompt and encouraging.

“It is by God’s grace that we are alive today,” Diala said. “Let us continue to pray for Nigeria and for the Navy’s strength in defending our land and waters.”
