Bauchi Police Arrest Man for Sharing Misleading Video About Officers
Bauchi Police Arrest Man for Sharing Misleading Video About Officers....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Operatives from the Bauchi Police Command have apprehended Adamu Suleiman for disseminating a misleading video that falsely accused the Nigeria Police Force of involvement in armed robbery. The arrest was confirmed through a press release by Police Public Relations Officer Ahmed Wakil on Tuesday.
The police stated that Suleiman was taken into custody for sharing a video clip on social media that sparked confusion regarding the actions of police officers. In the video, an individual claimed that officers were responsible for an armed robbery incident, leading to widespread concern among the public.
The press release clarified that the video was not only outdated but also misrepresented the events depicted. It originated from an incident that occurred on February 18, 2020, along the Kano-Maiduguri Road near Bam village in Dambam Local Government Area. The police explained that the vehicle shown in the video was parked in response to a distress call regarding an ongoing armed robbery, not as part of a criminal act.
Wakil emphasized the seriousness with which the command treats matters of public misinformation, especially when such claims have the potential to incite fear, confusion, or unrest within the community. He urged citizens to verify information before sharing it and to avoid actions that could disrupt public order or compromise safety.
