Arrest Warrant Issued for British Citizen, Nigerians Over Alleged Plot to Overthrow President Tinubu....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an arrest warrant for British citizen Andrew Wynne and several Nigerians, accused of conspiring to remove President Bola Tinubu and promoting terrorism. The warrant was granted by Justice Emeka Nwite on Tuesday, following an ex-parte motion filed by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and presented by lawyer Audu Garba.

Garba, during the court session, informed Justice Nwite that the motion sought an order to arrest the individuals involved in the alleged treasonous activities. The named suspects include Andrew Martin Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich, Lucky Ehis Obiyan, and Comrade Abdullahi Musa.

According to the affidavit supporting the motion, investigations revealed that these defendants were allegedly responsible for the planning and coordination of the invasion and arson of the High Court Complex, the NCC office, and a printing press in Kano.

The police also requested that the court declare these suspects wanted for their alleged involvement in treason. Justice Nwite, after considering the motion, described it as “meritorious” and granted the warrant for their arrest.

Justice Nwite has recently faced scrutiny after ordering the remand of 10 #EndBadGovernance protesters at Kuje and Suleja Correctional Centres on Monday. These protesters were arraigned on a six-count charge, including alleged treason. The remand order has drawn criticism, with activist Francis Nwapa accusing Justice Nwite of being an enforcer for President Tinubu’s administration, labeling his actions as a violation of the Nigerian Constitution and the Criminal Justice Act.

Nigeria’s Campuses Set For Shutdown As NASU, SSANU Embark On Nationwide Strike.

Operations across federal universities and inter-university centres are expected to be disrupted from Friday as the Joint Action Committee of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) begins a nationwide strike.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

reports that the unions confirmed the industrial action in a letter dated April 30, 2026, addressed to the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa.

The letter was jointly signed by NASU General Secretary, Peters Adeyemi, and SSANU President, Mohammed Ibrahim.

Strike To Begin At Midnight

The unions stated that the strike will commence at 12:00am on May 1, 2026, following the Federal Government’s failure to conclude ongoing renegotiations and present a new offer on allowances.

While they acknowledged the withdrawal of an earlier disputed letter concerning a proposed 30 per cent increase in the Consolidated Non-Teaching Tools Allowance, they said the action did not address their core demands.

They said, “We write to acknowledge receipt of your correspondence and to equally appreciate the Honourable Minister of Education for withdrawing the contentious letter.

“Despite this, the withdrawal did not resolve the core issues in dispute.

“The consensus outcome of the consultation is that our demand vis-à-vis the slow pace of the renegotiation process has not been met.”

The unions also noted that no fresh proposal had been introduced to replace the withdrawn allowance.

They added, “While the letter on the withdrawal of the Consolidated Non-Teaching Tools Allowance is acknowledged, no new offer has been made to supersede the 30 per cent allowances contained in the withdrawn letter.”

According to the Joint Action Committee, members had mandated their leadership to take action if negotiations were not concluded by April 30.

“In view of this, with the agreement not concluded as at 30th April 2026, and with no new offer, the strike action shall commence by 12am on May 1, 2026,” the letter stated.

The unions further explained that the action became unavoidable due to the government’s failure to resolve the issues through meaningful dialogue.

They said, “We hereby inform the Federal Government… that as a result of the failure of Government to avert the strike by positively acceding to our demands, all members… will commence total and comprehensive strike action by Friday, May 1, 2026.”

The planned strike is expected to significantly disrupt administrative and support services in federal tertiary institutions nationwide, raising concerns over another round of instability in Nigeria’s university system.

The management of De Rainbow Event Centre has dismissed reports alleging that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, threatened to revoke its operational licence over the African Democratic Congress (ADC) national convention.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The controversy arose following the ADC convention held in Abuja on April 14, after party officials alleged that the venue came under pressure to cancel its booking.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, the Director of the event centre, Martina Yusuf, refuted the claims.

Yusuf stated that the facility neither received any threat from the FCT Minister nor from any government official or agency.

She said, “We wish to categorically state that De Rainbow Event Marquee did not receive any threat of licence revocation from the Honourable Minister of the FCT or from any other person or government institution.

“These reports were not authorised by us and, to the best of our knowledge, are untrue. They appear to have been circulated without verification.

“Members of the public and the media are therefore urged to disregard the allegation in its entirety and rely only on verified information.”

Yusuf added that the clarification became necessary following concerns raised by clients with existing bookings at the facility.

She also reaffirmed that the event centre remains fully operational and that all confirmed reservations are still valid.

“This clarification has become necessary following enquiries from clients with existing bookings who are concerned about their scheduled events.

“We confirm that De Rainbow Event Marquee remains open for business and all confirmed bookings remain valid. Providing our clients with a secure and controlled environment is our top priority.

“We are grateful for everyone’s understanding and the trust they have placed in us,” she added.

The ADC leadership, led by former Senate President David Mark, had earlier alleged that the venue for its convention was under pressure to cancel the event.

The party’s spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, claimed in a post on that officials of the Federal Capital Development Authority and the FCT Minister allegedly threatened the venue with possible licence revocation if it hosted the convention.

Despite the alleged pressure, Abdullahi maintained that the party proceeded with the event after meeting all financial obligations and securing a formal agreement with the venue.

The event centre’s denial has now added a new dimension to the ongoing controversy surrounding the ADC convention.
