Afam Ogene, the representative for Ogbaru Federal Constituency in Anambra State at the House of Representatives, has appointed 70 constituency aides across Ogbaru in a strategic move to fulfill his commitment to providing excellent service to his constituents.
The newly appointed aides, who include advisers, special assistants, and executive assistants, have been selected based on their experience and dedication to the success of Ogene’s tenure. The appointment letters, signed by Ogene’s Chief of Staff, Chinedum Uwolloh, and obtained by our correspondent on Tuesday, detail the specific responsibilities of these aides.
The letter highlights that the aides will “assist the office of Hon. Ogene in achieving its core objective of delivering excellent service to the people of Ogbaru Federal Constituency in their specific areas of appointment or perform any other duties assigned by the office from time to time.”
These appointments reflect Ogene’s broader commitment to his constituents, aiming to enhance service delivery and ensure that the interests of the people of Ogbaru are prioritized. The appointees are expected to bring their expertise and enthusiasm to their roles, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the constituency.
To support the aides in their duties, they will receive monthly allowances designed to motivate them and improve their economic conditions. This financial support is intended to alleviate any financial burdens, enabling them to focus fully on providing exceptional service to the constituents.
Ogene’s commitment to responsible leadership was earlier articulated in a covenant made public during a February 2024 thanksgiving program, celebrating his victory at the tribunal. In his pledge, Ogene vowed to be a “sensitive, responsible, and responsive Representative,” dedicated to the peace and socio-economic development of Ogbaru Federal Constituency. He also emphasized the importance of equity, fairness, and justice in his legislative duties, guided by the principles of servant leadership.
Notable among the appointees are Mr. David Chukwuekezie and Ben Nwasike as Special Advisers (Political), Emmanuel Akpati as Head of Media Relations, Maxwell Nwebo as Special Assistant (Events), Frank Oduah as Personal Assistant (Education Programmes), Tina Nwafor as Special Assistant (Women Mobilisation), and Amechi Ede as Executive Assistant (Religious Affairs).
These appointments underscore Ogene’s dedication to his constituents and his resolve to ensure effective governance and representation in Ogbaru Federal Constituency.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
