Afeez Adedigba, a micra taxi driver from Ibadan, Oyo State, recently gained widespread attention after a video of him driving while wearing his wife’s dress went viral. Now, Adedigba has shared the reasons behind his unconventional attire.
In a candid interview with media personality Ayo Adams, Adedigba revealed that the decision to wear his wife’s clothes was a practical one. According to him, heavy rain had drenched his clothes, leaving him with no other option but to wear the only dry garment available—his wife’s dress.
Adedigba explained, “This isn’t the only dress of my wife’s that I have worn. I actually have two of her dresses in my car. The first time I wore one, it was because all my clothes were soaked in the rain, and I still wanted to work that day.”
He added that his wife was aware of his need for the dress and had no objections to him using it. “When I took the dress, I explained to my wife that I needed it for work, and she agreed.”
Adedigba shared that he now keeps his wife’s dress in his vehicle as a backup for rainy days. “When it rains, I put on her dress, and when the rain stops, I switch back to my own clothes. That’s why the dress is always in my car,” he said.
Addressing questions about how passengers react to seeing him in a dress, Adedigba remained unfazed. He emphasized that his primary focus is on earning money to support his family and deliver returns to the owner of the vehicle. “I’ve been driving this micra for quite a while now, and I only seek God’s favor on the job,” he stated.
Contrary to rumors, Adedigba dismissed the idea that he wears his wife’s dresses because of a fight that led to his clothes being torn. He clarified that his decision was purely a matter of practicality.
