“Don’t Give Away The Party!” Abure’s Shocking Ultimatum To Dickson Over Peter Obi’s Influence!.

Published

on

Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, has cautioned Senator Seriake Dickson, founder of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), to exercise extreme caution in his political engagement with former Anambra State governor Peter Obi and his supporters. In a statement released on Monday, Abure commended Dickson’s decision to refrain from fully handing over NDC party positions to Obi’s allies, suggesting this approach could prevent the internal power struggles that plagued the Labour Party following the 2022 and 2023 elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Abure highlighted several key points regarding his perspective on the situation:

  • Learning from Past Conflicts: Abure argued that Obi, Governor Alex Otti, and other candidates who secured election tickets under the Labour Party at little or no cost prioritized disputes over party control instead of contributing to its development.

  • A Warning Against Full Control: He emphasized that political leaders should avoid repeating the mistake of granting one group total control of party structures, noting that achieving balance is essential for stability and fair representation.

  • Accusations of Ingratitude: Characterizing Obi and his followers as “ingrates,” Abure claimed they turned against the party leadership once they had secured their positions, attempting to dissolve party structures from the ward to the national level.

  • Strategic Advice: Abure supported Dickson’s move to retain influence within the NDC, arguing that for strategic reasons, Dickson must appoint his own loyalists to ensure he has allies who will support and defend him.

  • Preemptive Lesson: The Labour Party chairman asserted that no leader who witnessed the events within the Labour Party would willingly replicate that dynamic, justifying Dickson’s refusal to allow Obi’s faction to occupy every space within the NDC.
