Thierry Henry Calls On Barcelona To Sign Victor Osimhen As Galatasaray Star Misses Konyaspor Match.

Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Thierry Henry has backed Victor Osimhen as the elite forward Barcelona need to reclaim their place among Europe’s top clubs.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Henry, who had a successful spell at FC Barcelona, was candid about the club’s current attacking options, insisting that the Catalan side lacks a proven, ruthless striker capable of finishing chances created by their emerging talents.

Speaking to Sport, the Frenchman said, “Barcelona need a real number 9. A top-level striker. I am referring to formidable scorers such as Victor Osimhen, Erling Haaland, or Harry Kane. Proven finishers, not prospects.”

By naming Osimhen alongside the likes of Haaland and Kane, Henry placed the Nigerian forward among Europe’s most feared attackers. He also criticized Barcelona’s ongoing struggles with chance conversion, pointing out how costly missed opportunities can be. Referring to teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, Henry added, “When you have a talent like Lamine Yamal, who delivers passes like that, you have to score. It’s simple. At this level, one chance is enough. I’ve seen games where too many chances were wasted. At Barcelona, that can’t happen. That’s what separates being competitive from being a champion.”

Meanwhile, Osimhen will miss Galatasaray’s league clash against Konyaspor this weekend. The Turkish club confirmed he was left out of the squad as a precaution due to discomfort in his right knee.

In a statement, Galatasaray said, “Victor Osimhen, who is complaining of pain in his right knee, has been withheld from the squad for the match against Konyaspor as a precaution.”

There are no major concerns about his fitness. The move is aimed at ensuring he is fully ready for the crucial UEFA Champions League play-off second leg against Juventus in Turin. Galatasaray hold a 5-2 lead from the first leg, in which Osimhen contributed two assists.

Domestically, the 27-year-old has been pivotal in Galatasaray’s Süper Lig title chase, scoring nine goals and providing three assists as the club sits three points clear at the top with 55 points.

CAN explained that the document causing the confusion was issued by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), adding that it never approved or circulated any communication involving the Sultan in the chapel project.

It said the clarification became necessary to correct the public impression and prevent misinformation linking it to the claim.

The Lagos State branch of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has removed its chairman, Babajide Saheed, following an Emergency General Meeting held on Saturday in Lagos.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In his place, the association’s former 1st Vice-Chairman, Temidire Ewonowo, has been appointed as the new chairman in line with the NMA constitution.

The decision was taken through a secret ballot after members accused the former chairman of repeatedly violating the association’s rules and regulations.

Addressing the development, Ewonowo listed several allegations against Saheed, including failure to convene an Emergency General Meeting within the stipulated time after a formal request was made by affiliate leaders and members.

He also cited instances where the former chairman allegedly walked out of a duly convened Emergency General Meeting and submitted an unapproved delegate list.

According to him, the chairman also referred members to a disciplinary committee based on decisions that were not approved by the State Executive Council or congress.

Ewonowo said the constitution provides that in the event of a chairman’s removal, the 1st Vice-Chairman automatically assumes leadership, adding that due process was followed.

He noted that the meeting had 112 members and nine affiliate heads in attendance, meeting the required quorum for such a decision.

Out of the votes cast, 93 supported the removal, four opposed it, while three were invalid.

He further stated that the Emergency General Meeting remains the highest decision-making body of the association.
