Emerging as the sole aspirant for the position, Osborne secured all 54 votes cast by delegates during the primary election held at Obiozara Primary School in Uburu.
The Deputy State Chairman of the APC, Alphonsus Nwali, who chaired the electoral committee, officially declared Osborne the winner. Nwali praised the people of Ohaozara for their continued support of the party in past national and state elections and assured that the APC would remain transparent in selecting leaders committed to delivering development and public welfare.
In his acceptance speech, Osborne Umahi pledged to prioritize massive road infrastructure projects aimed at connecting farmlands to markets, facilitating easier transportation of produce. He also promised policies to empower the youth and create meaningful opportunities for their participation in local development.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his appointment and thanked Governor Francis Nwifuru for endorsing his son’s candidacy.
