LAGOS, Nigeria (Oct. 11, 2025) — Former Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate, Faith Adewale, has spoken publicly for the first time since his disqualification from the reality show, revealing that he asked for a therapist several times while in the house before his removal.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Faith, who is a medical doctor, was disqualified on October 2 after a physical confrontation with fellow contestant Sultana. Big Brother announced his exit immediately, citing a violation of the show’s rule against violence.

In a video released on his official YouTube channel on Friday, Faith said he repeatedly asked for mental health support because he was struggling emotionally.

“I was overwhelmed. I was isolated. I asked for a therapist over three times because I knew I needed help,” he said.

The reality star explained that the pressure and isolation of the competition affected his mental state, but his requests for professional help were not addressed.

Following his disqualification, Faith said he took time off to reflect and learn from the experience. According to him, the incident taught him the importance of patience, self-control, and seeking help early when struggling mentally.

His management team also issued a statement expressing disappointment over the disqualification. They claimed the decision was unfair and that Faith was not given any prior warning or strike, which is usually the first step before disqualification in such cases.

“All his work and efforts gone without a warning,” the team said, while thanking fans—known as The Faithfuls—for their continued support.

Fans have been divided on social media. Some viewers agreed that the show’s organizers acted within the rules, stressing that physical violence cannot be excused. Others argued that Faith’s request for therapy should have been taken seriously and that more attention should be given to contestants’ mental health.

A medical expert who reacted to the situation said Faith’s behavior might have been linked to emotional stress and exhaustion, adding that therapy could help him recover and grow from the incident.

Despite the controversy, Faith expressed gratitude to his supporters, saying they stood by him even when he was at his lowest. He promised to move forward positively and focus on new personal and professional projects.

“This is not the end,” Faith said. “I’m grateful to everyone who showed me love. I’ll come back stronger.”

Faith’s disqualification has once again sparked debate over how reality TV shows handle contestants’ mental health needs, with many Nigerians calling for more emotional support systems in such high-pressure environments.
