IBADAN, Nigeria — Whitecrust, a growing food and hospitality company, has officially expanded its operations to Ibadan, one of Nigeria’s largest cities.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The company announced the opening of its new outlet in the city this week, marking its first major move outside Lagos. Whitecrust said the expansion is part of a plan to reach more customers and create new jobs across southwestern Nigeria.

Company officials said the Ibadan branch will serve a wide variety of meals and baked goods, continuing the brand’s focus on quality and affordability. The outlet is located in a busy commercial area of the city and will also offer delivery services.

“We are very excited to bring Whitecrust to Ibadan,” said Chief Executive Officer Adebayo Johnson during the launch. “Ibadan is a vibrant city with a rich culture, and we believe our products will meet the needs of families, students, and working professionals here.”

Job Creation and Local Impact

The company said the new outlet has already created more than 100 direct jobs for young people in Ibadan. These include roles in cooking, customer service, and logistics.

Whitecrust also plans to work with local farmers and suppliers to source fresh ingredients. Officials said this will help support the regional economy and ensure consistent quality for customers.

“This expansion is not just about our business,” Johnson said. “It is also about investing in the communities where we operate. By hiring locally and buying from local farmers, we are building stronger connections.”

Part of Larger Growth Strategy

Industry experts say Ibadan is an important choice for expansion. With more than 3 million residents, the city is one of the fastest-growing urban centers in Nigeria. It also has a large student population, with several universities and colleges.

Whitecrust, which started as a small bakery in Lagos nearly a decade ago, has quickly grown into a popular food brand. The company operates several outlets in Lagos and has built a reputation for affordable meals, quick service, and modern customer experience.

The move into Ibadan is part of a broader strategy to expand into other major Nigerian cities. Company executives said plans are already in place to open new outlets in Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano in the coming years.

Customer Excitement

Residents in Ibadan have welcomed the news. Many say the arrival of Whitecrust adds more variety to the city’s food and dining options.

“I am happy they are here,” said university student Maryam Oladipo, who attended the launch event. “I used to visit Whitecrust whenever I traveled to Lagos. Now I don’t have to wait until I go back there.”

Others see the company’s arrival as a sign that Ibadan is attracting more business investment. “This is good for our city,” said shop owner Sola Akinyemi. “When big companies like this come in, it means more jobs and more opportunities for people.”

Challenges Ahead

Despite the excitement, analysts say Whitecrust will face challenges as it grows. Competition in Nigeria’s food and hospitality sector is strong, with both local and international brands fighting for customers. Rising food prices and inflation are also concerns for businesses and families.

Still, Whitecrust leaders said they are confident in their model. They believe a focus on affordable quality and strong community ties will help them succeed.

Looking Forward

As Whitecrust opens its doors in Ibadan, company officials say they are focused on building trust with customers and delivering consistent service.

“This is just the beginning,” Johnson said. “We see Ibadan as a home for our brand, and we will keep working to serve our customers better every day.”

With its expansion, Whitecrust is positioning itself as one of Nigeria’s most ambitious homegrown food companies. Its success in Ibadan may shape how fast it grows across the country in the years to come.
