He shared his experience during a church service at Streams of Joy International, led by Pastor Jerry Eze, in Abuja. A video of his testimony has since gone viral on social media.

Johnson explained that for five years, no producer or director contacted him for work. “The film industry isn’t like a regular office job where you can ask why you lost a position,” he said. The silence was painful, he added, because he received no explanation—he simply stopped getting calls. Despite this, he maintained his faith and continued to trust God.

The extended break prompted him to move to Abuja to attend church prayer programmes. Although some colleagues warned him that Abuja isn’t a major film hub like Lagos, Johnson stayed committed to the gatherings.

He revealed that his career began to turn around in early 2026. Since January, he has already featured in twelve projects and received invitations for film work abroad, with upcoming trips to Germany and the United States. He expressed gratitude for these new opportunities.

During the service, Johnson also spoke about his daughter’s health struggles, sharing that she had faced a serious illness but has since improved.

She shared her thoughts on Instagram, reposting a message from a user reflecting on identity, motherhood, and personal growth.

Annie emphasized that her priority is staying alive, authentic, and free for her children, rather than being defined by marriage. Her goal is to create a nurturing environment where her children can flourish, highlighting that her own peace, joy, and stability directly impact their well-being.

Rejecting the stereotypes often associated with single motherhood, she dismissed narratives of struggle, limitation, and mere survival. Instead, she framed her journey as one of legacy, empowerment, and emotional balance.

She wrote:
*”I’m not a single mom. I’m a single woman raising two kids. My children don’t need me married. They need me alive. They need me true. They need me free. I’m a woman rising, and two beautiful souls rise with me. My peace brings them peace, my joy brings them joy, and my radiance creates their safety.

My kids get to watch me grow, to watch me rise, to see a woman rebuilding her world with joy, not bitterness. That is the greatest gift I’ll ever give them. Being a ‘single mom’ comes with a story society wrote for us: overwhelmed, struggling, limited, surviving. That’s not my story.”*

Her statement comes months after her separation from singer 2Baba in January 2025. The couple, who share two children, have moved forward independently while their divorce is yet to be finalized.

Since then, Annie has focused on self-care and personal growth, attending wellness retreats in Qatar, Singapore, and Cape Town, and regularly sharing reflections on healing, self-worth, and empowerment.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Afropolitan podcast, the 36-year-old explained how unreliable electricity continues to hinder the country’s creative sector. He noted that when inspiration strikes but there is no power, valuable creative energy is often lost.

Sarz said that despite being born and raised in Nigeria, he has never experienced a full 24 hours of uninterrupted electricity. According to him, there are moments he wakes up inspired to make music but cannot work due to a power outage. At times, even getting fuel for generators becomes difficult because of strikes or scarcity, leaving projects stalled and creative potential wasted.

He stressed that creatives need the right environment to perform at their best, adding that inadequate infrastructure poses serious challenges when artists are mentally ready to produce.

The producer concluded that for Nigeria’s entertainment industry to reach greater heights, stronger infrastructure support is essential, as current limitations continue to restrict growth.
