Tension In Zamfara As INEC Halts Verdict, Declares By-Election Inconclusive
According to Nivo News, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Zamfara State House of Assembly by-election for Kaura-Namoda South Constituency inconclusive. Announcing the results at the Kasuwar Daji Collation Centre on Saturday, August 16, 2025, the commission reported that the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 6,999 votes, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered 5,339 votes, giving the APC a lead margin of 1,660 votes.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
A ward-by-ward breakdown showed APC leading in Kagara, Saka Jiki, Kyanbarawa, and Dan Isah wards, while PDP prevailed in Banga and Kurya wards. Despite this lead, INEC declared the exercise inconclusive due to irregularities, stating that a rerun would be conducted in three polling units of Kyanbarawa Ward and two polling units in Saka Jiki Ward. The electoral body assured that a new date for the supplementary election will be announced to conclusively determine the winner.
