He remarked, “Our border, especially in the Northern part of Nigeria, is notably porous. I am curious about the Immigration Service’s capacity to protect our borders adequately with the appropriate equipment. This situation is reminiscent of the challenges faced by the Nigerian Army. To safeguard our borders effectively, it is imperative to ensure the welfare of our Immigration officers through the provision of facilities, equipment, training, and overall support, as their responsibilities are demanding.”
The respected monarch pledged the palace’s support for the NIS in carrying out its duties and commended the public relations officer of the state command, Kenneth Ake, for his exemplary performance.
In his address, Uba Waziri, the comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service in Edo State, expressed his respect for the Oba of Benin in accordance with tradition and thanked Oba Ewuare II for the continuous support that the Benin Kingdom has offered to the service. During the visit, the immigration comptroller also sought royal prayers and support.
