The PDP specifically called for a reduction in fuel prices, electricity tariffs, and charges on essential services, urging President Bola Tinubu to use the remainder of his tenure to prioritize the welfare of Nigerians. The party highlighted the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir, which symbolizes selflessness and submission to God’s will, as a reminder for the government to act in the public’s best interest.
Additionally, the party encouraged Nigerians to remain patriotic and steadfast in their faith, despite the prevailing economic, security, and social challenges. It appealed for continuous prayers for divine intervention and unity during this difficult period.
“The PDP urges citizens not to lose hope but to remain committed to national values, support one another, and seek divine guidance for the country,” the statement read.
The party also called on leaders to use the Sallah celebration as a moment of reflection—advocating for genuine fear of God, decisive action against insecurity and corruption, and the recovery of looted public funds. It stressed that such recovered resources should be invested in infrastructure, the productive sector, and national security.
The PDP concluded by extending warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to all Nigerians, wishing the nation peace and renewed hope.
