Take-It-Back Movement Condemns Disrupted Arraignment of Kano Protesters and Plans Abuja Solidarity Rally
Take-It-Back Movement Condemns Disrupted Arraignment of Kano Protesters and Plans Abuja Solidarity Rally....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Take-It-Back Movement (TIB), a prominent human rights and pro-democracy organization, has voiced serious concerns over the disrupted arraignment of Kano protesters. According to a recent update on TIB’s X handle, the magistrate reportedly intends to move the proceedings from the court to Goron Dutse prison. This decision has sparked significant alarm among human rights advocates.
In their post, TIB criticized the magistrate’s decision, drawing a troubling parallel with the secretive arraignment of 28 protesters in Kaduna. “The scheduled arraignment of Kano protesters has been disrupted, with reports that the magistrate will hold proceedings at Goron Dutse prison instead of the court,” TIB stated. “This bears a resemblance to the unjust secret arraignments of 28 protesters in Kaduna. This nonsense must stop!”
The organization highlighted the worrying similarity between the two cases, suggesting that both reflect a disturbing trend towards clandestine legal proceedings against protesters. This approach, TIB argues, undermines transparency and fairness in the legal process.
In response to the situation, TIB has planned a major solidarity event. The organization will gather at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday to demand the immediate release of #EndBadGovernance protesters who are currently facing charges. TIB announced that members will occupy the court premises from 7 a.m. to show their support for those they believe are being persecuted and illegally detained.
The group extended an invitation to the public, urging citizens to join them in their protest. “Join us as we gather at the Abuja High Court tomorrow at 7 AM to show solidarity and demand the immediate release of persecuted and illegally detained #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protesters who are facing charges,” TIB wrote.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
