An EFCC insider, speaking anonymously to Vanguard, confirmed the arrest on Sunday, May 4, 2025. The source revealed that the action followed a series of complaints accusing VeryDarkMan of using his online platforms to harass, insult, and intimidate individuals—activities believed to potentially violate Nigeria’s Cybercrimes Act of 2015.

While the identities of the complainants and full details of the grievances were not disclosed, the source emphasized that the Commission had received “several complaints” prompting the arrest.

In response, legal counsel for VeryDarkMan, Deji Adeyanju, affirmed ongoing efforts to secure his client’s release. “I’m currently outside the country but will return to Abuja by Monday afternoon. We plan to meet with EFCC officials by 4 p.m. to arrange for his bail,” he stated.

He also approved an amendment extending the lifespan of the 2025 budget from March 31 to June 30, 2026, to ensure completion of ongoing capital projects nationwide.

Under the 2026 fiscal plan, ₦4.799 trillion is set aside for statutory transfers, ₦15.8 trillion for debt servicing, ₦15.4 trillion for recurrent spending, while ₦32.2 trillion goes to capital projects—about half of the total budget.

The focus, according to the administration, is on infrastructure development, security, and growth-driven investments aimed at improving living standards.
