NNPP Clears Kano Governor, Reaffirms Kwankwaso’s Expulsion.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party has lifted the indefinite suspension imposed on Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, after concluding an internal investigation into allegations of misconduct levelled against him in 2025.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Nivo News, the decision was announced on Tuesday in a statement issued by the party’s leadership following a review of the findings submitted by a committee set up to probe the allegations, which were reportedly linked to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and his supporters within the party.
The NNPP said the resolution was reached by its National Working Committee in consultation with the party’s Founder and Board of Trustees during an emergency meeting held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja. As a result, all rights and privileges previously withdrawn from Governor Yusuf have been fully restored.
In a significant development, the party also elevated the Kano governor to the position of National Leader, describing the role as the highest elected office held by any member on the NNPP platform. The leadership urged Yusuf to leverage his new position to foster unity within the party and strengthen its structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The NNPP commended the governor for what it described as his boldness in confronting perceived challenges within the party, while reiterating its stance on the expulsion of Senator Kwankwaso and members of the Kwankwassiya movement from the party.
