The former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGN) in Oyo State, Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, has called on Nigerians, particularly Muslim faithful, to offer special prayers for the peace, progress, and economic stability of the nation as they celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammed.

In a statement released by his media officer, Dipo Olagoke, Aleshinloye emphasized the importance of this celebration as a time for reflection and community unity. He encouraged Muslims to embrace and promote the virtues of humility, love, peace, harmony, and mutual co-existence—values that Prophet Muhammed exemplified throughout his life.

Unity and Prosperity for All

Aleshinloye urged citizens to remember the significance of fervent prayer for the economic prosperity of Nigeria. He stressed that achieving greater unity and progress among all Nigerians, regardless of religion or background, is crucial for national development.

“Let us remember to pray fervently for the economic prosperity of our nation to achieve greater unity and progress among our fellow countrymen and women, irrespective of religion or place of origin, and promote greater development to the nation,” he stated.

Prayers for Leadership

In addition to prayers for the nation, Aleshinloye highlighted the importance of praying for President Bola Tinubu. He expressed hope that the President would successfully guide Nigeria towards a brighter future, ensuring stability and growth for all citizens.

“Maulud Nabiyy is a special period that calls for sober reflections and special prayers to the Almighty Allah for the peace, progress, and economic stability of the country,” he added.
