Breakdown of the Supplementary Budget
During a press briefing following the Executive meeting, Balarabe Kadadi, the Commissioner of Budget and Economic Planning, shared insights into the funding sources for this budget. It includes inflows from several programs such as NG-CARES, L-Press, Agile, local government palliative funds, as well as funds for ecological and excess crude oil management.
Kadadi stated, “The proposal would be presented to the state House of Assembly for approval,” highlighting the necessary legislative process for the budget to take effect.
Investment in Infrastructure
In addition to the supplementary budget, the council approved a significant allocation of N17.9 billion specifically earmarked for the reconstruction of roads within the state. This investment underscores the administration’s focus on enhancing transportation networks, which are crucial for economic growth.
Notable allocations from the budget include:

He emphasized the economic importance of these roads, which are vital for enhancing connectivity and driving growth within Sokoto State.
Focus on Education and Religious Affairs
In a further commitment to education and community development, the Executive Council also approved N156.7 million for the rehabilitation of the oldest Islamiyya school in the state, as disclosed by Dr. Jabir Maihula, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs.
