Tragic Collision: Man Killed in Epe Truck Accident....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

An unidentified man tragically lost his life in a collision involving two trucks in the Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State. The accident occurred at Araga Bus Stop on Poka Road around 7 PM on Monday, creating a somber atmosphere in the community.

According to Nosa Okunbor, the Head of the Public Affairs Unit at the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the incident involved a mini-truck and an articulated truck. Reports indicate that the articulated truck attempted to overtake the mini-truck, which led to the fatal collision.

The articulated truck’s driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, raising concerns about accountability. “Following distress calls received at 1907 hours via the 767/112 Toll-Free Lines, LASEMA activated its Whale Response Team from the Epe Base,” Okunbor explained in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Upon the team’s arrival at the scene at 1922 hours, they found that the mini-truck, which was transporting Dangote Cement, had been involved in the accident. Investigations revealed that while the mini-truck was navigating the road, the articulated truck’s attempt to overtake resulted in a side collision.

The impact of the collision led to a tragic outcome, as one of the motor boys seated on the mini-truck fell during the crash. Unfortunately, he sustained fatal injuries and lost his life. His identity has not been disclosed at this time.

The body was subsequently transported to the Epe General Hospital Morgue for further processing.

NMA Lagos Crisis Deepens As Chairman Sacked, New Leadership Installed Amid Dispute.

Published

The leadership of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Lagos State branch, has been thrown into crisis following the removal of its chairman, Dr. Babajide Saheed, at an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) held on Saturday in Lagos.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In his stead, the association’s 1st Vice Chairman, Dr. Temidire Ewonowo, has assumed leadership in line with provisions of the NMA constitution.

However, the ousted chairman has rejected the decision, describing the process as unconstitutional and invalid.

Officials at the meeting said the move followed alleged constitutional breaches and the chairman’s failure to convene an emergency meeting requested by affiliate bodies within the required timeframe.

Dr. Ewonowo explained that the process was initiated after several affiliate groups demanded an emergency congress over alleged violations of the association’s rules. He also accused the former chairman of walking out of a prior emergency meeting and submitting an unapproved delegate list, which they said contributed to disciplinary action.

The decision was taken via secret ballot during the EGM, with 93 members voting for removal, four against, and three votes invalid. Organisers insisted the quorum and constitutional requirements were met.

Dr. Ewonowo said the transition aligns with the association’s rules, adding that the vice chairman automatically assumes leadership when a chairman is removed. He pledged to stabilise the association and prioritise doctors’ welfare in Lagos.

But Dr. Saheed maintained that he remains the legitimate chairman, insisting that due process was not followed and rejecting the outcome of what he described as an “unconstitutional” meeting.

The development has effectively split the Lagos NMA branch, with both sides standing firm on their positions amid deepening internal tensions.
