In a move aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has approved the redeployment of several senior officers within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). The reshuffling includes the posting of Branch Chiefs, Air Officers Commanding (AOC), Directors, and Commanders, aimed at optimizing resources and boosting the operational effectiveness of the NAF.

The redeployment was confirmed in a statement released by the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information, Group Captain Kabiru Ali. Among the key appointments is Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Olasunkanmi Abidoye, who has been transferred from the Defence Headquarters to NAF Headquarters as the Chief of Standards and Evaluation. Additionally, AVM Adeniyi Amesinlola, formerly Commandant at the Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, will now serve as the Chief of Transformation and Innovation at NAF Headquarters, while AVM Abubakar Adamu has been appointed as the Group Managing Director of NAFIL Group.

Other notable redeployments include AVM Iboro Etukudo as the Chief of Policy and Plans, AVM Francis Edosa as the Chief of Training and Operations, AVM Dalhat Ladan as the Chief of Air Intelligence, and AVM Suleiman Usman as the Chief of Communication and Information Systems. AVM Sayo Olatunde takes over as Chief of Defence Policy and Plans, while AVM Lanre Oluwatoyin assumes the role of Chief of Defence Space Administration at the Defence Headquarters.

Further changes saw AVM Ibikunle Daramola reassigned as the Chief of Civil-Military Relations, AVM Abiola Amodu named as the Chief of Aircraft Engineering, and AVM Patrick Phillips appointed as the Chief of Logistics.

On the command front, AVM Elijah Ebiowe is now the AOC Tactical Air Command in Makurdi, with AVM Sunday Aneke taking charge as the AOC Mobility Command in Yenagoa. Additionally, AVM Abubakar Abdullahi has been appointed AOC of Air Training Command in Kaduna, and AVM Adeniran Ademuwagun will serve as the AOC of Logistics Command in Ikeja.

In congratulating the newly appointed officers, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized that the redeployment is intended to provide greater strategic flexibility and optimize the use of resources. He also highlighted the importance of critical and innovative thinking in addressing the nation’s current security challenges.
