Former Imo State Governor and Senator, Rochas Okorocha, has reportedly been released on bail after being detained by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

It was earlier reported that Okorocha was arrested by police officers at a hotel in Abuja.

The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Iniedu, confirmed the arrest and subsequent release to Channels Television, explaining that the former governor was granted bail after about an hour of interrogation over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.

Iniedu disclosed that Okorocha had been directed to return to the Force Headquarters on Tuesday for further questioning as investigations into the allegations continue.

The arrest reportedly followed his failure to honour previous police invitations concerning the ongoing investigation.

Okorocha was initially invited to the Force Headquarters on September 2, but the meeting was rescheduled to September 8 at the request of his lawyers. He reportedly failed to appear on the rescheduled date.

Meanwhile, the former governor had earlier dismissed reports that a court order had been issued for his arrest over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and the use of false documents.

He made the denial in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary and Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo.

Okorocha also accused the Imo State Government of being behind what he described as fake news.

The former senator threatened to pursue further legal action if those responsible for the report failed to produce the alleged court order within 48 hours or retract the publication.

“Not Up To 200 People!” – Wike Mocks Amaechi Over Poor Turnout At Cross River Meeting.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed claims by Rotimi Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is poised to win the 2027 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Wike mocked Amaechi over the turnout at a town hall meeting in Cross River State, claiming that fewer than 200 people attended the gathering.

The FCT minister made the remarks during his media chat on Tuesday while responding to suggestions that the emerging opposition ticket involving Atiku and Amaechi was causing concern among supporters of President Bola Tinubu.

Recounting Amaechi’s comments at the meeting, Wike said the former Rivers State governor had expressed confidence in Atiku’s chances, citing the regional origins of the major presidential contenders.

“I watched Amaechi; he had a town hall meeting in Cross River. I can tell you the numbers not up to 200 people,” Wike said.

According to Wike, Amaechi told those present that the election had effectively been decided in Atiku’s favour, based on the geographical distribution of the candidates.

“He said, ‘Atiku is from where? North. Tinubu is from where? South. Obi is from where? South. Donald Duke is from where? South. Atiku has won the election,’” Wike recounted.

The minister questioned Amaechi’s decision to make such a prediction while addressing supporters at a town hall meeting.

“How can a vice-presidential candidate go to a town hall meeting, standing and telling his supporters, ‘Do you know how this election has been won?’” he asked.

When asked whether Amaechi’s argument was based on the assumption that Atiku, as the leading northern candidate, would have an advantage over his southern rivals, Wike referred to the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

“In 2023, Atiku ran, Obi ran, Tinubu ran, who won?” he asked.

Wike maintained that the 2027 presidential election would differ significantly from the previous contest.

“I’ve always told you people, 2027 will be totally different from 2023,” he said.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has accused opposition politicians of misleading Nigerians about President Bola Tinubu’s administration, arguing that their primary objective is to take over power.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Wike made the remarks during his monthly media chat in Abuja on Tuesday, where he cautioned opposition parties against turning politics into a do-or-die affair.

The former Rivers State governor maintained that Tinubu had performed well, insisting that political differences should not prevent politicians from acknowledging the administration’s achievements.

According to Wike, opposition parties should not automatically dismiss the president’s performance simply because they are not part of the ruling government.

He said: “The time has come that not because you are in the opposition party and then you say the man who is in charge of the affairs of the country has done nothing just because of the sake that I’m in opposition, that is not fair.

“We have taken politics to a level that it must not be played that it’s all do-or-die affairs.

“For us, we think the president has done well, it’s just that the opposition wants to take over power.

“Whether you have done anything to the satisfaction of Nigerians, the opposition will say, ‘Look, the ruling party has not done anything. We want to take over power.’

“But the way the opposition is going now is a bit of a concern to us because they are not telling Nigerians the truth.

“Let those of us in other political parties say no, this is not the truth, this is what is happening and that is what is going on.

“When you see something that will help your country, come out and say it, it doesn’t matter if you are in opposition or not.”
