Urgent Reminder: NIN-SIM Linkage Deadline Approaches....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Authorities from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) have issued a crucial reminder to Nigerians and legal residents regarding the approaching deadline for linking the National Identification Number (NIN) with Subscribers Identity Modules (SIM). The Federal Government has set September 14, 2024, as the definitive date for this essential linkage.
The NIMC has confirmed that its extensive network of over 10,000 registration outlets across Nigeria and in the diaspora is fully operational. These centers are equipped and staffed to ensure seamless enrollment, verification, authentication, and modification of NIN data. Dr. Kayode Adegoke, the Head of Corporate Communications at NIMC, emphasized that all services related to the NIN-SIM linkage are running smoothly to meet the approaching deadline.
NIN Enrollment Centers Open for All
In a recent statement, NIMC reiterated that its NIN enrollment centers nationwide are available for Nigerians and legal residents. Anyone in need of a NIN can visit any of these centers for enrollment. The Commission is dedicated to ensuring that every citizen has the opportunity to obtain their NIN before the September deadline.
Dr. Adegoke stated, “This assurance is given in light of the September 14, 2024 deadline for the NIN-SIM linkage.” With more than 22 million children already captured in the NIMC database, the organization is committed to expanding its reach and accessibility.
Services and Support Available
NIMC has also made it clear that individuals who need to modify their NIN data can do so via the NIMC Self-Service Portal at self-servicemodification.nimc.gov.ng (terms and conditions apply). Additionally, NIN holders and applicants can seek assistance regarding enrollment centers, procedures for data modifications, NIN verification issues, and any other inquiries through the official NIMC website at www.nimc.gov.ng.
Commitment to Ethical Practices
The Commission has reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy for extortion and unethical practices during the enrollment process. Dr. Adegoke reiterated that NIN enrollment is free of charge. Any reports of extortion or unethical behavior can be directed to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng or by calling 07002255646.
NIMC is committed to delivering excellent identity management services, ensuring that all Nigerians and legal residents receive the support they need to comply with the NIN-SIM linkage requirement.
