Nigerian Lawmakers Urge Canada to Prosecute Resident for Threatening Anti-Yoruba and Benin Comments

The House of Representatives has formally requested the Canadian government to investigate and prosecute Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a Nigerian resident in Canada, for making threatening and inflammatory comments against Nigerians of Yoruba and Benin descent.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In a viral video circulating on X.com, a woman’s voice was heard during a TikTok virtual meeting, making anti-Yoruba statements. Identifying herself as a resident of Ontario, Canada, the woman threatened to use poisonous substances to harm Yoruba and Benin individuals at her workplace, claiming that her actions were in response to what she described as “hate” against the Igbo.

Concerned by the gravity of these threats, Nigerian federal lawmakers, represented by Biodun Omoleye and Tochukwu Chinedu Okere, issued a letter to the Canadian government. The letter emphasized that Sunnberger’s statements pose a direct threat to the lives and safety of millions of Nigerians, both in Nigeria and within the diaspora.

The letter stated, “On behalf of the Nigeria-Canada Parliamentary Friendship Group and the House Committee on Diaspora Matters, we are writing to express our deep concern regarding the actions of Ms. Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a Nigerian citizen residing in Canada. Ms. Sunnberger has recently been recorded making inflammatory statements that incite violence against the Yoruba and Edo ethnic groups in Nigeria, including advocating the poisoning of food and water supplies to achieve their mass genocide.”

The lawmakers highlighted that Sunnberger’s comments violate several international agreements and Canadian laws, including the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, and the Criminal Code of Canada. They stressed the potential danger of such rhetoric, which could incite real-world violence.

  4. Collaboration with Nigerian Authorities: Joint efforts with Nigerian authorities to prevent any potential escalation of violence and ensure that justice is served.

Major Breakthrough As Police Arrest Suspects In Sophisticated Microsoft Email Hack.

Published

on

According to Nivo News, the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF–NCCC) has arrested high-profile cybercrime suspects linked to a sophisticated Microsoft 365 phishing operation that targeted the email systems of major corporate organisations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The arrests followed actionable intelligence received from Microsoft Corporation in the United States through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which exposed the deployment of an advanced phishing toolkit known as RaccoonO365. The toolkit was designed to create counterfeit Microsoft login pages capable of harvesting user credentials and unlawfully accessing corporate, financial, and educational email platforms.

Briefing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that the cybercrime centre launched a coordinated, intelligence-led operation in partnership with Microsoft, the FBI, and the United States Secret Service. He explained that investigations traced multiple cases of unauthorised Microsoft 365 account access recorded between January and September 2025 to phishing emails crafted to closely mimic legitimate Microsoft authentication portals.

According to police findings, the cyberattacks resulted in business email compromise, data breaches, and significant financial losses across several jurisdictions. Acting on precise intelligence, NPF–NCCC operatives conducted targeted operations in Lagos and Edo states, leading to the arrest of three suspects. Searches carried out at their residences yielded laptops, mobile phones, and other digital devices, which forensic analysis directly linked to the fraudulent activities.

Further investigations identified Okitipi Samuel, also known by the aliases “RaccoonO365” and “Moses Felix,” as the principal suspect and alleged developer of the phishing infrastructure. Police said he operated a Telegram channel through which phishing links were sold in exchange for cryptocurrency and hosted fake login portals on Cloudflare using stolen or fraudulently obtained email credentials.
