APC Confident of Victory in Edo Governorship Election, Says Ganduje
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has expressed strong confidence that the party will secure victory in the upcoming Edo governorship election scheduled for September 21. Speaking on Thursday during a meeting with the leadership of the Kano State Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by its Chairman, Aminu Garko, Ganduje highlighted the preparations and strategies in place to ensure a landslide win for the APC candidate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Ganduje emphasized that the party’s campaign is gaining momentum and that they are poised to reclaim Edo State, which was previously under APC control. “Our campaign is in high spirits, we are getting ready for that election, and we believe we will be able to recover our state,” he stated. He attributed the previous loss to internal issues within the party but expressed confidence in overcoming these challenges to regain control from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC Chairman also discussed the party’s strategy for the upcoming Ondo governorship election in November, noting that despite the challenges following the death of the former governor, the party successfully conducted primaries and selected a candidate who enjoys broad support. “Ondo State is already an APC state, and we are confident of retaining it,” Ganduje said.
Looking ahead, Ganduje outlined the party’s broader ambitions, particularly in the South-East geopolitical zone, where the APC aims to increase its influence. He noted that the APC currently governs Ebonyi and Imo states and has set its sights on capturing Anambra, a state long governed by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). “We are working hard to ensure that we capture most of the states in the South-East,” he remarked.
