Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has urged residents to embrace the future with renewed determination as the journey to create a better Osun continues. In a statewide broadcast marking the 33rd anniversary of the state’s creation, he reaffirmed his commitment to transparent, dedicated, and accountable leadership.
Reflecting on the past, Governor Adeleke encouraged citizens to consider the progress made since Osun State’s establishment in 1991. He emphasized that this anniversary is not just a celebration but a reminder of the hopes and dreams of the state’s founding fathers.
“Osun State is our home, and it is our collective duty to ensure it continues to thrive,” Governor Adeleke stated. He highlighted the significance of the state’s journey over the past three decades, marked by determination and resilience. “Thirty-three years ago, the dream of a state that could stand tall and independent within the Nigerian federation became a reality.”
In praising the founding fathers, the governor acknowledged their sacrifices and commitment to recognizing and developing Osun State’s unique cultural heritage and resources. He called upon citizens to renew their dedication to the state’s growth.
“My fellow citizens, as we mark this 33rd anniversary, let us renew our pledge to contribute to the development of our state. Let us embrace the values of hard work, integrity, and community that have defined us as a people,” he said. “Together, we can ensure that the Osun of tomorrow is even greater than the Osun of today.”
Looking to the future, Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of unity among residents, regardless of political affiliation. He stated, “The journey ahead requires that we continue to work together, in the spirit of unity and purpose that has brought us this far.”
