The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of the Emir of Ningi, Yunusa Danyaya, in Bauchi State.
The Emir, who recently returned from a medical trip to Saudi Arabia on Thursday, August 22, passed away in the early hours of Sunday. The news of his death has been met with widespread mourning across the nation.
Atiku, in a heartfelt message shared on his official X handle, highlighted the late monarch’s significant contributions during his long and impactful reign. He described Emir Yunusa Danyaya as a symbol of pride for his people, whose leadership left an indelible mark on the Ningi Emirate.
The former Vice President extended his condolences to the Bauchi State government and the entire Ningi Emirate community. He stated, “I commiserate with the Bauchi State government, especially the people of Ningi Emirate, over the demise of its Emir, Alhaji Yunusa Danyaya.”
Atiku also offered prayers for the late Emir, saying, “May the Almighty Allah accept his soul into Al-Jana and relieve the community of the grief of his loss. Amin.”
