A tragic incident has been confirmed by the State Police Command in Lagos, where a 58-year-old man has died while reportedly undergoing a 19-day dry fasting regimen. The unfortunate event occurred in the Alagbado area of Lagos State on Monday around 6 a.m.
The Command’s Spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, shared details with the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday. According to Hundeyin, the deceased’s younger brother reported the incident to the Alagbado Police Division at approximately 7 p.m. on the same day. He informed the authorities that his brother had passed away while allegedly participating in an extended dry fast.
Following an investigation, the police found no signs of foul play in the man’s death. The family of the deceased has requested permission to take custody of the body for burial.
