Almost all the ministers and other Council members were present at the meeting. One of the key topics expected to be discussed is the proposed nationwide protest by some groups.
During the previous FEC meeting, the Council directed the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, to propose additional measures for the 2024 budget to address the financial gaps that will arise from the implementation of the new minimum wage once it is finalized.
Additionally, in last week’s meeting, the federal government directed the distribution of 740 trucks of bags of rice across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
