“The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs ensures that all payments for programs and projects are meticulously authorized following established civil service regulations. The approval process involves the Director of Finance and Accounts, with final assent by the Permanent Secretary, the Ministry’s accounting officer,” Abdulrahaman’s statement read.
The statement also noted that Kennedy-Ohanenye has filed a lawsuit (Suit No. E 500/2024) against Hon. Kafilat Ogbara for libel and defamation, urging the committee to present any evidence of alleged misappropriation in court.
Kennedy-Ohanenye reiterated her commitment to the prudent use of the Ministry’s resources, stating, “As long as I am the Minister of Women Affairs, I will continue to use the resources judiciously for the benefit of Nigerian women and children.
