Amaechi Issued Threats Over My 2023 Governorship Bid, Magnus Abe Alleges
Senator Magnus Abe, the 2023 gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State, has accused former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi of threatening him over his gubernatorial aspirations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Abe claimed that Amaechi boldly asserted that he and his supporters would face hardships within six months if he persisted with his gubernatorial ambition and did not align with him.
Speaking at a gathering with his supporters and party members at his Freedom House office in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Abe recounted how Amaechi visited his residence and warned him against contesting for the governorship, fearing it would disrupt party unity.
“Amaechi declared that our rebellion wouldn’t last six months, and that after that period, we would all suffer and come back to him,” Abe revealed. “But it’s been over six years now, and look at us. We’ve shaken the establishment, deflated their influence, and they’ve fled the party. That’s why it’s imperative for us to return to the party, and do so promptly.”
Appealing to his supporters, Abe urged them to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State to rally behind President Bola Tinubu’s government. He also advocated for support for Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), whom he claimed was collaborating with the APC administration.

Speaking on The Afropolitan Show, Omotola recounted that a colleague in the film industry had taken her to meet men in the area known for lending money. She described having to navigate a dangerous environment before reaching the location where the men were waiting.
The actress said the men were notorious in the neighborhood for being dangerous and dealing with loans. Upon arrival, she pleaded with them for financial help to cover her brother’s school fees, a situation that left her terrified due to her young age and the men’s intimidating reputation. Omotola admitted that the encounter could have ended badly but felt she was protected.
She recalled: “There was a time when a colleague in the industry took me to a place in Mushin, some ghetto area. We walked through a rough part of the neighborhood. I was about 15 then. We got to this place and these bad boys were there, like in a sitting room. I begged them, explaining I needed money for my brother’s school fees. They looked at me… they could have harmed me.”
Eventually, the men agreed to lend her the money. However, she later ran into difficulties repaying the loan. The unpaid debt led to threats from the lenders, who eventually came to her home. During the visit, they took several household items, including the family television and DVD player, in an attempt to recover the money they claimed she owed.
