Brigadier General Bashir Adewinmbi, retired, the Commander of Amotekun Osun Corps, disclosed in a statement obtained by that the suspect was apprehended on Monday at GRA Osogbo around 7:30 am.
Adewinmbi stated, “Eze was arrested for stealing air conditioners from the house where he was employed as a private security guard. The operatives took action following a complaint against the suspect for stealing the air conditioners from the house where he works.”
“He was caught in the act after selling nine air conditioners, each valued at four hundred thousand Naira, to Hausa scrap buyers at five thousand Naira each. Two air-conditioners were recovered from his buyers.”
“Upon preliminary investigation, he confessed to the crime and revealed that this was not his first offense. He admitted to selling stolen items to his Hausa scrap customers in the past.”
The suspect has been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further interrogation and prosecution.

During the proceedings, two of the defendants—Abdulrazak Umar and Shamsudin Adamu—further confessed to utilizing a WhatsApp group named “The Oneness of Allah is the Foundation of Peace” to train and incite members toward acts of terrorism. Furthermore, Abdulrazak Umar pleaded guilty to a separate charge of conducting unauthorized illegal gold mining activities along streams in the Chaza area located within Niger State’s Suleja Local Government Area.
