This proactive measure comes in the wake of an alarm raised by Governor Ademola Adeleke regarding potential attacks on schools and farm settlements by criminal elements. Adeleke voiced his concerns over an alleged plot aimed at disrupting the state’s infrastructural development agenda by instilling fear among residents.
In response, Adewinmbi assured the public that the Osun Amotekun, in collaboration with other security agencies, has intensified patrols and surveillance in border areas to thwart any such nefarious schemes. He emphasized the importance of preventive measures to maintain law and order in the state.
Furthermore, Adewinmbi disclosed ongoing efforts to enhance intelligence gathering and coordination among security agencies. He reiterated the commitment of the security apparatus to ensure the safety and security of residents across Osun State.

During the proceedings, two of the defendants—Abdulrazak Umar and Shamsudin Adamu—further confessed to utilizing a WhatsApp group named “The Oneness of Allah is the Foundation of Peace” to train and incite members toward acts of terrorism. Furthermore, Abdulrazak Umar pleaded guilty to a separate charge of conducting unauthorized illegal gold mining activities along streams in the Chaza area located within Niger State’s Suleja Local Government Area.
