SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, disclosed this, highlighting that the Rapid Response Squad operatives conducted the operation on Tuesday across notorious areas in Oshodi and its surroundings.

Hundeyin explained that the raid, spanning Anthony, Bolade Oshodi, and Oshodi Terminus, was initiated based on credible intelligence regarding the activities of illicit elements in those localities. Additionally, he noted a separate incident where a semi-automatic pistol was seized in Opebi, Ikeja, on the same day, following information received from the public and deployed by Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.

Furthermore, the discreet operation led to the recovery of two 9mm caliber firearms and one expended ammunition. After a meticulous screening process conducted by the RRS Commander, the 43 suspects were identified as those culpable. Hundeyin affirmed that immediate legal action will be taken against them, emphasizing the commitment of the police to maintain law and order in the state.
