Former governor Abdullahi Ganduje and his wife, Hafsat, are set to face trial in court as the Kano State Government moves to arraign them over allegations of misappropriation of state funds and diversion of landed properties belonging to the state…….READ ALSO
According to an arraignment summon obtained by our correspondent, Ganduje and his wife, along with six others, will face an eight-count charge related to alleged dollar bribery, as well as the diversion and misappropriation of funds amounting to $413,000 and N1.38 billion.
The other respondents named in the suit are Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Ltd, Safari Textiles Ltd, and Lesage General Enterprises.
The Kano State Government, backed by 15 witnesses, has filed a criminal charge against Ganduje and the other respondents.
The arraignment is scheduled for April 17th, 2024, before Justice Malam Na’aba of the Kano State High Court.
