Under the visionary plan, the current single-story structures comprising 2,330 shops will undergo a remarkable transformation into multi-story buildings, significantly expanding the available commercial space. Additionally, the redesigned complex will feature essential amenities such as a clinic, a police post, and ample parking facilities to enhance convenience and accessibility for shoppers and visitors alike.
Dr. Ishaya Dabari, the Commissioner of Commerce & Industry, outlined the ambitious scope of the project, emphasizing the government’s commitment to upgrading the shopping complex to modern standards while accommodating the evolving needs of the community. To facilitate the seamless execution of the remodeling process, shop owners are being relocated to the late Gambo Jimeta Modern Market and Motor Park, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
