The truck, laden with beer and belonging to the Nigerian Brewery, reportedly lost control at the Liyetu axis of Ondo town in the Ondo West Local Council Area of the state.
The unfortunate incident involved a Golf 111 car with the license plate BUR 852 TS, which was ferrying passengers along the route at the time of the mishap.
Confirming the tragedy, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that the deceased individuals have been transferred to the mortuary while the injured passenger received medical attention at a nearby hospital.
In light of this distressing event, the public is urged to explore alternative routes to evade traffic congestion. Additionally, motorists are implored to adhere to safety guidelines, such as avoiding overspeeding and reckless overtaking, to prevent further loss of lives and property on the roads.
