The decision, disclosed in a statement on Tuesday, January 2, by the ministry’s spokesperson, Augustina Obilor-Duru, is a response to concerns about some Nigerians utilizing unscrupulous methods to obtain degrees for employment opportunities.

The suspension will remain in effect pending the outcome of an investigation involving the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Education, the Department of State Security Services (DSS), and the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) of both Nigeria and the two countries in question.

The action was prompted by an investigative report revealing fraudulent practices titled “UNDERCOVER: How DAILY NIGERIAN reporter bagged Cotonou varsity degree in 6 weeks.

The ministry strongly condemns such acts and aims to address the issue of illegal institutions, both domestic and abroad, preying on unsuspecting individuals.

    • Explaining that her emotional rants often overshadowed the original offense and made her look like the wrongdoer, she announced the end of her old style of responding and stated that Carter Efe and Davrel had already been served via email and WhatsApp.

    • Shortly after her announcement, Carter Efe released a video online confirming that he had indeed been served with the ₦500 million lawsuit.
