Currently, $691 has been raised toward the $26,000 target.

Additionally, Blessing Okagbare seemingly accepted a 10-year ban imposed on her by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) Disciplinary Tribunal last year. The 33-year-old sprinter faced the ban for allegedly violating multiple anti-doping rules. As a result of this development, Nigeria’s 2008 long jump silver medalist was expelled from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics before the women’s 100m semi-finals after testing positive for human growth hormone during an out-of-competition test in Slovakia on July 19.

Despite her denial of taking the prohibited substances through injection or any means, Okagbare emphasized her history of ‘negative’ tests, including 10 out of 12 tests conducted between April 16, 2021, and July 30, 2021.

Calls for Resignation from Opposition Groups
