The fatal accident unfolded when the container of the truck toppled onto the commercial bus while the driver was attempting to navigate through a damaged section of the road. The two vehicles were en route to different destinations, with one headed to Awka and the other to Onitsha.

Tragically, five victims, all females, lost their lives in the accident, while two adult males and two adult females sustained various injuries. Remarkably, one adult male emerged from the incident unscathed.

An eyewitness described the unfortunate event, explaining that both vehicles arrived at the spot simultaneously, and due to the truck’s weight, the container toppled onto the bus, resulting in the crash.

Confirming the accident, Margaret Onabe, the acting Sector Public Education Officer for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), reported that the probable cause of the fatal crash was attributed to the deteriorated condition of the road.

The injured victims were promptly taken to Divine Care Hospital, Umunya, for medical attention, while the deceased individuals were transported to Chira Hospital for confirmation by medical professionals before being transferred to the New Jerusalem Mortuary, Nteje.

Corps Commander Adeoye Irelewuyi, the Sector Commander of Anambra State, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased victims, offering prayers for the repose of their souls and speedy recovery for the injured. He emphasized the importance of cautious driving and urged motorists to remain attentive to their surroundings, emphasizing the need to “Drive to Arrive Alive.”

Sheikh Jingir had previously advocated for the retention of a Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 elections, arguing that it serves to demonstrate demographic weight. Total War In Football: UEFA, AFC, And Concacaf Unleash Blistering ‘Deception’ Attack On FIFA!.

In a joint open letter released on August 10, UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and Concacaf launched a scathing critique against FIFA and its president, Gianni Infantino, accusing them of breaking the trust of football institutions through deception.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Core Dispute: The FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE)

The controversy centers around FIFA’s abandoned FFE proposal, which aimed to establish a new company to manage the commercial and ticketing rights of FIFA competitions—including the World Cup—with a 21 percent stake intended for sale to a private investment firm. The plan was ultimately scrapped following heavy backlash and boycott threats led by UEFA.

While FIFA previously defended itself by condemning efforts to “undermine” leadership and announced an internal review to report to the FIFA Council in October, the three confederations rejected this approach. They argued that proper governance demands an independent third-party investigation rather than a self-review by FIFA staff or stakeholders.

Governance and Lack of Consultation

The three bodies emphasized that the dispute is not financially motivated, but rather concerns institutional integrity, power execution, and stakeholder consultation. They criticized FIFA for pushing the FFE proposal through a compressed timeline designed to avoid proper scrutiny, pointing out that a leadership meeting in Morocco regarding the matter lacked participation from Member Associations or FIFA Council members, featuring only FIFA-employed senior staff.

Concluding their letter with a call for accountability, the confederations urged the global football community to honor unity and demand leadership that serves the game rather than commanding it.
