According to reports, top ADC figures, including National Secretary Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, and Secretary of the ADC Manifesto and Policy Committee Mallam Salihu Lukman, were prevented from seeing El-Rufai during a visit to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) facility.

Photographs and videos from the visit were later shared on social media by ADC spokesperson Bolaji Abdullahi via his account, confirming the development.

However, details surrounding the incident remain unclear, and the circumstances of the visit have not been fully explained by authorities.

Meanwhile, the ICPC had recently dismissed allegations that El-Rufai was being denied access to food, family members, and medical care while in custody.

ICPC spokesperson Okor Odey described the claims as “false and misleading” during a press briefing, insisting that detention protocols were being properly followed.

He explained that visitors are allowed into ICPC detention facilities between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., adding that El-Rufai’s wife reportedly arrived outside the approved visiting hours.

Odey further stated that authorised individuals such as family members, lawyers, and medical personnel are granted supervised access in line with established procedures.

El-Rufai’s family, however, had earlier alleged that the former governor was being denied access to his personal doctors despite a court order granting him full access to legal and medical care.

They also claimed that even after medical tests were conducted, follow-up consultations were allegedly blocked.

According to his second wife, Hasiat, “When you see a doctor and you run tests, you are expected to see the doctor back so that he explains what the problem is,” adding that he was denied access to medical review.
