Adamu, who previously served as a commissioner in Adamawa State, made the announcement in a statement released on Friday, revealing that his decision came after several months of consultations with constituents, political stakeholders and supporters throughout the senatorial district.

He explained that although there had been increasing pressure from supporters urging him to run, he chose to carefully consider the move before making his final decision.

According to him, the trust, encouragement and growing calls from people across Adamawa South played a major role in convincing him to seek the Senate seat.

“After months of wide consultations, sincere reflections, and encouragement from constituents, stakeholders, supporters, and well-meaning citizens across Adamawa South, I have decided to answer the call to serve and formally join the race for the Adamawa South Senatorial seat,” he said.

Adamu noted that he deliberately remained silent for some time despite mounting appeals, using the period to engage in broad consultations and thoughtful reflection.

He added that the strong demand for what he described as purposeful, experienced and people-focused representation ultimately pushed him into the race.

“The overwhelming confidence reposed in me and the consistent demand for purposeful, experienced, and people-oriented representation have been truly humbling,” he stated.

The former commissioner said purchasing the ADC nomination form officially marks the start of his mission to represent Adamawa South in the National Assembly.

“Obtaining the nomination form on Thursday marks the formal beginning of this journey and my commitment to offering myself for service to the good people of Adamawa South,” he added.

Adamu further described his ambition as more than a personal political pursuit, saying it represents a people-driven movement focused on unity, development and effective representation for the district.

“This movement belongs to the people and is driven by our shared desire for purposeful representation, unity, and progress across Adamawa South,” he said.

He expressed optimism that with public support, the campaign would move forward with determination, unity and a clear sense of purpose.
