The National President of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Socio-cultural Association, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, has rejected the consensus arrangement being promoted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Taraba State.
reports that Bodejo made his stance known during a visit to the APC secretariat in Jalingo, where he also declared his ambition to contest the Taraba Central Senatorial seat under the party’s platform.
The Miyetti Allah leader firmly stated that he would not step down for any aspirant, insisting that he would not accept any consensus arrangement that requires him to withdraw from the race.
His position comes as the APC leadership in the state continues efforts to adopt consensus candidates ahead of future party primaries.
Bodejo also revealed that members of his association have begun mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu across Northern Nigeria in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He said the mobilisation effort is driven by what he described as Tinubu’s achievements in the region.
During the visit, the APC State Chairman, Abubakar Bawa, assured party members that future primaries would be conducted in a free, fair, and credible manner, although he maintained that the party was still favouring a consensus approach.
Meanwhile, political analysts have warned that the disagreement over the consensus arrangement could spark internal tensions within the APC in Taraba State.
There are also claims that the State Working Committee may be operating under alleged instructions linked to Governor Agbu Kefas, pushing for candidates to emerge through consensus rather than open competition in party primaries.
