Bwala Labels Atiku, Peter Obi, Amaechi “Tinubu’s Familiar Customers”.

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Public Communications and Media, Daniel Bwala, has criticised the current state of opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

reports that he made the remarks on Thursday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he said the opposition has failed to present Nigerians with a credible alternative.

Bwala argued that many opposition leaders are motivated by personal grievances and political ambition rather than national interest.

He said, “They are actually denying the Nigerian people the opportunity to make a choice. The opposition consists largely of internally displaced politicians, some of whom are desperate for power. Some are aggrieved because they left our party and feel they were not given opportunities, while others are simply desperate. Desperate people do desperate things.”

He added that recent political activities among opposition figures reflect desperation and lack of cohesion, noting that Nigerians are observing their actions.

The presidential aide also criticised the frequent defections and shifting alliances among opposition politicians, saying they had previously used such behaviour to attack members of the ruling party.

He said, “A few days ago, they were fighting each other on different television stations. Some are now trying to justify why they keep jumping from one political party to another within months.

“This is what they once accused us of, saying we lack principles. But now they are moving around like table tennis balls. It is unfortunate.”

Bwala added that despite his criticisms, the ruling party would prefer a stronger and more organised opposition that can provide healthy democratic competition.

He said, “We are actually saddened that they have not been able to come together and stay organised, so we can have a viable opposition.”

When asked about the chances of opposition figures such as Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi in future elections, Bwala dismissed their prospects, describing them as familiar political rivals to President Tinubu.

He also referred to Obi as a “nomadic politician,” while suggesting that the online support for his movement does not reflect real-life political structures.

On Atiku Abubakar, he described him as an experienced politician now facing the realities of age in active politics.
