The request was presented during plenary on Tuesday through a letter read by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

In the correspondence, Tinubu stated that the nomination complies with constitutional provisions guiding ministerial appointments.

The letter read in part: “In compliance with the provisions of Section 147, Subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1991 as amended, I am pleased to forward for confirmation by the Senate the nomination of Mr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“While I hope this request will receive the expeditious consideration of the Senate, please accept, Distinguished Senate President, Distinguished Senators, the assurances of my highest regards.”

Senate President Akpabio assured that the request would be given prompt attention, after which it was referred to the Committee of the Whole for further legislative consideration.

Tegbe, an indigene of Oyo State, is a seasoned fiscal and economic reform expert with more than 35 years of experience spanning both public and private sectors.

He previously served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he led key initiatives in fiscal policy reform, institutional restructuring, and governance improvement.

Over the years, he has also advised government institutions and private organisations on strategic reforms, regulatory frameworks, and investment structuring.

His nomination follows the resignation of Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down as Minister of Power to pursue a governorship bid in Oyo State.

In a recent interview with Morayo Afolabi, the star actress reflected on her past habits, revealing that she has successfully moved away from cigarette smoking, though she noted she still uses a vape occasionally.

A Husband’s Firm Stance

Toyin shared that her journey toward quitting began during her pregnancy, when her husband reminded her that smoking was no longer a viable option for the sake of their unborn child—a sentiment that left a lasting impression on her.

The actress recounted a significant moment following the birth of their child when she smoked during an outing. While her husband noticed, he chose not to argue or lecture her. Instead, he made his boundary clear: while she was free to make her own personal choices, he would never tolerate those habits in their child.

The Ultimate Ultimatum

The actress revealed the weight of her husband’s words, explaining that he set a firm boundary for the future of their household. According to Toyin, her husband warned that if he ever discovered their child smoking or drinking alcohol, it would mark the end of their marriage.

Describing Kolawole Ajeyemi as the “best thing that has ever happened” to her, Toyin expressed appreciation for his support, stating, “He let me be me”.

Deep Secrets Exposed: Photos Reveal The Mystery Man Tying Tanimola To The Adeyemi Letter Scandal!.

Published

on

“Tanimola,” a Yoruba phrase meaning “Who knows tomorrow?”, has taken on a somber irony. For Dolapo Babatunde Tanimola, that question proved prophetic—months after his death, his name has unexpectedly surfaced at the heart of a national controversy that has gripped the country.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Until recently, Tanimola was a private figure, largely unknown outside of his immediate circle. That changed when the Presidency named him as the individual Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi allegedly identified as his source for a disputed appointment letter. This letter is central to the ongoing saga surrounding the “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council”—a body the Presidency insists is entirely fictitious.

The Heart of the Controversy

The Presidency has formally accused Adeyemi of impersonation and forgery, labeling him an impostor. While Adeyemi faces an eight-count charge, he maintains his innocence, insisting his appointment was lawful and stating his readiness to defend himself in court.

The investigation hit a major roadblock when authorities learned they could never question the man accused of being the mastermind. According to the Presidency, Tanimola died in a fire at Kachi Hotel in Utako, Abuja, on October 22, 2025—just five days before Adeyemi’s arrest. Investigators have since confirmed his death through hospital records, witness interviews, and burial records, noting that he was laid to rest on November 8, 2025, at Saint Matthew Anglican Church in Maitama.

A Mystery Man with High-Level Access

While the Presidency has offered little information regarding Tanimola’s background or official occupation, a collection of photographs has sparked intense public curiosity. These images show a man who seemingly moved comfortably within Nigeria’s elite circles.

The photographs feature Tanimola in the company of several prominent figures, including:

  • Political Leaders: Former President Goodluck Jonathan; former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (retd.); and Lagos State Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat.

  • Business & Public Figures: Philanthropists Arthur Eze, Tony Elumelu, and Abdulsamad Rabiu; and former Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu.

  • Security Chiefs: Three former Inspectors-General of Police—Mike Okiro, Solomon Arase, and Kayode Egbetokun.

What the Photos Mean

It is important to note that these images do not suggest any wrongdoing by the individuals photographed with Tanimola, nor do they prove they had any knowledge of the activities currently under investigation.

However, because Tanimola is no longer available to answer questions, the mystery surrounding his true influence, his connection to the alleged forgery, and the nature of his relationship with Adeyemi continues to deepen. With no official word on whether independent financial or digital evidence linking him to the scandal was recovered, the public is left with more questions than answers about the man who stood at the center of the Adeyemi letter controversy.

Riyad Mahrez has officially ended his storied international career following Algeria’s 2-0 defeat to Switzerland in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32. At 35 years old, the Desert Warriors’ talisman confirmed in Vancouver that the match marked his final appearance for his country, concluding over ten years of dedicated service.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reflecting on the loss, Mahrez expressed disappointment over the defensive lapses that allowed Switzerland to score, despite his belief that the team could have secured a win. “There are always positives to take away from matches: we did manage to get out of the group stage, but we conceded too many goals to aspire to more,” Mahrez noted. “This was my last match with Algeria.”

An Illustrious Legacy

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news, highlighting an incredible career output of 85 goal involvements across 119 international caps. Mahrez leaves behind a legendary status, having been the primary force behind Algeria’s triumphant 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) campaign, which included his iconic stoppage-time free-kick against Nigeria in the semi-finals.

Final World Cup Appearance

Algeria’s tournament came to an end in the Round of 32 after first-half and early second-half goals from Breel Embolo and Dan Ndoye. Mahrez, who was vital in getting the team out of the group stage—notably scoring two goals in a 3-3 draw against Austria—was substituted in the 71st minute, marking the end of his illustrious journey in the national colors.
