reports that social media users recently circulated claims alleging that the INEC chairman operated a personal X account and had used it to engage with or endorse partisan content.

The account in question, with ID: 1567086242164101120, was allegedly created in 2022, before his appointment as INEC Chairman.

Despite INEC’s earlier denial that its chairman operates any personal X account, users have continued to point to old posts linked to the account.

For clarification, former presidential media aide, Bashir Ahmad, reportedly asked Grok to verify the claims.

He wrote: “Hi @Grok, for sake of transparency, what is the original name of the X account with ID: 1567086242164101120 and was it created in September 2022, before it was later changed to joashamupitan in November 2025?”

In response, the AI stated: “The X account ID 1567086242164101120 was created on September 6, 2022, under the username joashamupitan.”

It further added that public tracking showed the account retained that username until April 10, 2026, when it was changed to “Sundayvibe00.”
